The Cutaneous Medicine Education Foundation (CMEF) was founded by a group of like-minded healthcare professionals with a shared vision: to improve patient care in dermatology through open access to trusted, high-quality educational resources.

Recognizing that knowledge empowers both clinicians and patients, our founders set out to create a reliable platform that bridges the gap between medical expertise and real-world care. By providing free, evidence-based educational materials, we aim to support physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and patients in understanding and managing skin disease more effectively.

The Board of Trustees of the Cutaneous Medicine Education Foundation (CMEF) is made up of dedicated volunteer leaders who share a common goal — advancing skin health through education, collaboration, and compassion.

Our Story
The Cutaneous Medicine Education Foundation (CMEF) was born from a shared passion among a group of dedicated healthcare professionals committed to improving the care of patients with skin disease. In 2023, this team of dermatology-focused clinicians and educators came together with a common purpose — to close the gap between clinical expertise and patient understanding through accessible, evidence-based education.

During that formative meeting, the group recognized that while knowledge and innovation in dermatology continue to advance, access to clear, trustworthy information often lags behind. They envisioned an organization that could provide both clinicians and patients with reliable educational resources designed to elevate the standard of care in cutaneous medicine.

With this mission at heart, the team established the Cutaneous Medicine Education Foundation as a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the free and open sharing of dermatologic knowledge. Their commitment was soon formalized when CMEF was recognized in 2024 by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) corporation, marking an important milestone in the Foundation’s journey.

Today, CMEF continues to expand its reach, developing and distributing high-quality educational materials for physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), and patients. Guided by collaboration, compassion, and a belief that education drives better care, the Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to improve skin health and enhance lives through learning.
